1. The Important Information: Whenever you join a site/forum the first thing you should always and will be asked to do is to read through the rules, take a look at the FAQs, stickies and other important information. This is for your own good, because you don't want to make a mistake and end up getting a tick on your first day or make a bad impression.
2. Getting a feel: Some people do this in order to get a “feel” of the site, and they do it before making their first post. Take some time to look through some posts, or even some member's profile. The more you get used to the site and seeing how it works then the more you'll feel comfortable.
3. Grammar, Spelling: If you have trouble spelling or don't speak English pretty well, use a spell check program. Like Microsoft Word or Open Office and such. Remember from the rules, text language is not allowed here. So make sure to check your spelling and grammar before making a post. Mistakes are mistakes, everyone makes one so don't worry about that.
4. Introduction: Your first post should to be to introduce yourself to the members and staff. This is to let us all know that we have a new member on board. The Introduction thread is where we can meet and greet you, and most importantly it gives us a chance to get to know you. You can take a look at recent introduction posts to get a better understanding of what to write.
5. What to put in your Introduction: It's an awkward stage for us, when introducing yourself. Your not so sure of what to write, and you might be thinking “Would this impress them?” But it's not about impressing others, just be you. Here are some things you can put in your introduction:
-Real first name
-Age
-Origins/Location
-Occupation
-Hobbies
-Like
-Dislikes
-Location
-Where did you hear of the Black Veil?
-How long have you been a vampire, if so?
-What type of Vampire are you?
Remember these are things you don't have to say if you're not comfortable doing so. They are only helpful ways to get you started.
6. Your second and so forth Post: Before you post something on a subject make sure that no one else has posted the same exact thing. That's what the search button can be used as. Search what you're looking for on the forum, if you can't find it then go ahead and feel free to post.
Other than that I hope you all enjoy your stay here. Good luck and have fun!
